XI Central Asian Internet Forum “Development of the Internet in Central Asia – InternetCA-2020» takes place on 11-13 November.
The Forum is traditionally hosted by the International Journalism Center MediaNet in partnership and with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Nur-Sultan.
The main theme of the InternetCA-2020: INTERNET DURING THE “PLAGUE”. Digital Transformation in the Pandemic Period.
Main topics of discussion:
· The role of media literacy and fact-checking during the infodemic;
· Digital rights and cybersecurity;
· New civic activism and observance of human rights on the web;
· Online lawmaking and justice;
· Network services and products that help the audience to improve the quality of life and exercise their rights;
· The role of the media in informing the audience during a pandemic and others.
The speakers of the event will be experts from the USA, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
The forum is also attended by Kazakhstani independent experts, representatives of state bodies and non-governmental organizations, journalists, bloggers, lawyers, Internet activists.
Speakers’ speeches, panel discussions and workshops will be held online on the MediaNet page on Facebook and YouTube on November 11, 12 and 13 from 14:00 to 17:30 Almaty time. A detailed program of the event will be published later.
Languages of the event: Kazakh and Russian.

The Regional Central Asian Internet Forum on Development of the Internet in Central Asia InternetCA
In 2020 the annual Central Asian Internet Forum on Development of the Internet in Central Asia InternetCA will take place for the eleventh time. The Forum regularly gathers high-quality expert audience. The event is organized by MediaNet International Center for Journalism under support of OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan.
Among the Forum speakers are experts from Western Europe, Russia, Ukraine and five Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan) who evaluates situation with the Internet sphere in the region, development prospects, defines problematic points and offer constrictive solutions.
Every year the organizers select key discussion topics, such as Internet security, internet management and etc.

During its eleven-year of operation, the Forum hosted near 1 500 of experts, representatives of public, international and government organizations, journalists, bloggers, scientists, parliament members, diplomats, lawyers and etc. from Germany, France, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia and many others.
In InternetCA the participants first of all discuss legal, political and social issues related to development of the Internet.
The Forum is conducted in Kazakh and Russian languages, simultaneous interpreter is provided.
